“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” — Maya Angelou
I believe healing begins when we allow others to bear witness to and respond with care to our untold stories. My desire in the counseling room is to create a safe space for clients to show up with their stories, no matter how scary or painful, beautiful and broken. Through kind and curious engagement, clients can begin to make sense of their story, its impact on the present, and journey towards wholeness.
I have worked with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, relational & family issues, grief, sexual abuse, complex trauma, faith/spirituality, and more. My areas of focus include relational & family of origin issues, pregnancy/postpartum, phase of life transitions, and vocational ministry. My counseling approach is relational and attachment-based, meaning that relationships are the primary context of both wounding and healing. I believe that true transformation occurs when our stories of pain are witnessed by another person in a space that offers curious engagement and tender care.
For several years I worked in the college ministry context, then after moving back to my hometown of Orlando, went on to earn a Master of Arts in Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary in 2020. I enjoy slow mornings, re-reading the Harry Potter series, and the mundane beauty of life with my husband and two kiddos.
